Recalbox the superstar
Of all the known emulation systems, Recalbox is probably the best known and is one of the most complete.
What is an emulation system?
Well, it's simple: an emulation system is either software or an operating system (like Recalbox) that allows you to emulate a variety of consoles and platforms.
The Recalbox OS is completely open source and free, and has been specifically designed so you can configure your machine in no time.
It can be installed on:
- Raspberry Pi
- Odroid C2 and XU4
- PC
Can it be installed on an arcade machine or a bartop?
The Recalbox OS system has also been designed for integration into terminals and bartops.
You can connect buttons and joysticks directly to the Raspberry Pi's GPIOs.
You can disable the menus to prevent misuse. It's also possible to use the HDMI/DVI/VGA (with an adapter) or RCA outputs.
